Chief Executive: David Wilkinson. Chair: Howard Bell
Finally replaced in March 2001 by the new "West Yorkshire Learning Skills Council" after 10 years.
Set up at the end of 1991 as one of 50 new TECs across the country (there are now 81), with an initial budget of £20 million. First and longest serving chair was Judith Donovan (seven years). Set up primarily as a vehicle for delivering Government Training schemes outside the control of local councils. Now operates with 4 directorates: Training and Education, Business Support, Marketing and Finance.
It's closure, along with the other TECs, was announced in June 1999.
Bradford TEC has been heavily criticised for it's poor performance.
Meetings are closed to the public.
Staff: 101 including 5 Executive directors and 6 "secondees" from the public sector.
