Created in March 2001 by the government to replace former Training and Enterprise Councils (including Bradford TEC), in response to the June 1999 Government "Learning to Succeed" White Paper. The West Yorkshire LSC is based in the former TEC offices at Mercury House. Will fund all post-16 further education and training, including the colleges.
Budget for 2001 is £234 million from a national budget of £5500 million.
