Our aim is to keep the skill and art of letterpress alive by producing work which is incredible to read, feel and touch. It’s that simple.
Not sure what letterpress is? Have a look at this Wikipedia definition or better still have a look at these images.
Our work is centred around an Arab Platen, which has been powered by hand, foot and eye for over 100 years.
We actively salvage, recycle and re-use print equipment (ink, type, paper etc) which is rendered obsolete by commercial interests. As such we welcome donations of any equipment you no longer want or wish to be looked after by our collective
If you are interested in incorporating letterpress into your work or are interested in joining The Print Collective please get in touch.
Access to the press is by prior arrangement only.
We are very grateful for the mentoring and beautiful work produced by the The Print Project over the years. They are here and newly housed in a warehouse in Shipley.
