Dear BRS/KDIS Online Chaps (and Chapesses)
I had the great pleasure of visiting your online facilties today, and took much joy from the jolly snaps of all the May Day jaunts. Good-oh chaps. Seems like you all had a splendid time and plenty of the old Red and Black, if you know what I mean, eh?
But I must say that the rather dashing young chap in the SWerP meeting piccy isn't a SWerP at all. No, no! He's actually quite a nice chap and I think its pretty awful of you to show him like that, as I'm sure there for a good reason for him being there. And I don't suppose you lot would take too kindly to people jumping to silly conclusions such as thinking you were some sort of anal-thinking, lefty-ice-pick-head, Kronstadt-bashing, Makhno-mashing, latest- cause-hijacking, Tony-Cliff-brown-nosing SWerP, now would you? So be reasonable chaps and change the piccy to one full of dirty little bloody Trot rotters. Or at least cover the poor chap's head so that he won't get pointed at in the street as being one of 'them'.
Like I said, you seem a jolly reasonable bunch, and I can't see you wanting to ruin a poor chaps reputation. So be good sports.
Tally Ho.

p.s I know where you live.

Subject: www.spy.org.uk UK Public CCTV Surveillance Regulation Campaign website
This may be of interest to visitors to the KDIS website:
"Watching Them, Watching Us" the UK Public CCTV Surveillance Regulation Campaign website which resides at:
Produced with help from the technical experts who produced the "Michael Portillo's Home Page" when a webcamera was pointed out of an office window which happened to look out on the private residence of the the then Minister of Defence...
This site is trying to raise the level of debate on Public CCTV Surveillance, especially given the powerful computer technologies now beyond the prototype stage such as neural network face recognition, motion/target tracking, car number plate recognition etc.
The UK seems to have no coherent regulations which make any of the 550 or so publically funded schemes subject to scrutiny or review, which is a shame since at least £45 million pounds of public money has gone into subsidies.
With the blurring of private intranets and the public internet, many of the same issues of privacy, data protection, copyright and censorship apply.

subject: Impressed
Dear friends,
Have just visited your site after reading Mike Hughes' Spies at Work on disk, and I am very impressed by your news and by the way you are making your material available on the net. Ironic that from an area once known for machine-breaking (OK, Luddites have had a bad press) you are leading the way in weaving radical politics and electronic media, putting the technology in working people's hands. Some of the supposedly more-organised orthodox left have still got a lot to learn!
Revolutionary greetings from an envious "Trot"!
