Set up in January 1990, with funding of around £50,000 from the Government City Action Team and private companies, acts as a network for local business, the council, the media etc. It justifies itself as "acting as a catalyst to effect a vision and strategy within the district for the 1990's and beyond." Initially raised around £70,000 a year running costs.
Meetings are closed to the public.
So far its main focus has been in supporting rail electrification, the Aire Valley Trunk Road, Bradford City Challenge bid (of which it was a founding partner and contributed to the Board), the and construction of the controversial Spring Ram factory. Heavily involved in City development schemes, such as the Forster Square scheme, and the "City Centre Management" movement.
